CIHC Girls Hockey
Columbus Ice Hockey Club offers opportunities for all female hockey players between the ages of 13 and 19. CIHC has a developmental program for girls that are new to the sport, as well as the ability to host select teams at various age levels that will participate in out-of-town games and tournaments. The excellent coaching at CIHC focuses on skill development and growth for girls at all experience levels through on- and off-ice training.
Ages
What aged players are appropriate for this program?
Players between the ages of 13 and 19 are welcome to play. CIHC offers opportunities for girls that are younger than 13. Reach out to us for more information.
When
What time of the year does this program run?
The season begins in October and runs through March.
Where
Where are practices and games typically held?
In October, on-ice practices are held at the Chiller rinks. From November through February, on-ice practices and most home games are held at the Ohio Expo Center, Taft Coliseum. Games and tournaments may be played in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Indiana.
Practices
When are practices and how often are they?
Starting in November, on-ice practices are 2 times per week. These are typically held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Fairgrounds. CIHC also offers off-ice practice on our synthetic ice at Thompson Recreation Center throughout the week. Goalie practices are held on Wednesday evenings.
Games
How many games will they play? What days of the week?
Teams will play 15-20 games over the course of the season and will usually fall on the weekends. There will be 2-3 out of town tournaments as well.
Jerseys
Are jerseys provided or are they purchased separately?
Girls jerseys are required and may be purchased through CIHC. Each girl will need a light and dark jersey with light and dark socks. Total cost is $100.
Extra Costs
What costs beyond registration fees should be expected?
If the team decides to participate in more tournaments than schedule, additional funds may be collected to cover tournament entry fees. Families are responsible for covering travel costs.
SEASON 2023/2024

The cost for the full season is $700. To complete registration through our secure site, you will be required to pay a $200 non-refundable deposit. If you play for another team or program and are interested in participating in our Pre and Post Season activities, the cost is $450, with a $150 non-refundable deposit due at registration. If your family needs to apply for financial assistance, please fill out the Scholarship Application and register using the button below. Be sure to select the "U14-U19 Girls Scholarship Participant" option, and pay a $100 non-refundable deposit, the balance of a scholarship awardee will be based on an individual family's situation, determined by the Scholarship Committee.
